I am a visual artist who now has the privilege of working in a studio practise full time. In this creative arena I use skills and techniques that I studied at South bank Institute to create pieces that are well crafted, original and handmade. I work mainly in ceramics and sometimes on canvas. I use a combination of other mediums such as photography and screen printing in both my ceramic and mixed media pieces.

Like most creative people it is the making of that I love, however I know that it is important to my outcome that I stay true to my principles of ensuring a strong practice ethic, providing affordable and original product and maintaining the artist's hand. It is my hope that my work reflects these aims and that it is able to add colour and life to your home and space.

The ceramic work is predominantly slip cast then decorated with colour, pattern and imagery to create random surface effects and is fired to allow functionality. The sculptural pieces are formed using everyday objects mainly small bottles or vessels. I love the idea that objects old or new can be reused over and over again and that art can showcase uniqueness in the way it is viewed. Once again the mixed media on canvas is a combination of colour, pattern and imagery to create an abstract collage.

Presently I am a regular retailer at the Boutique Markets, Portside (www.boutiquemarkets.com.au) and am there every fourth Sunday of the month; this market recommences in February 2011. My work can be found in Bleeding Heart, which is a café/gallery/retail outlet for handmade work and is Ann Street, Brisbane.
